My 2014 CrossFit Open Results

Well the 2014 CrossFit Open is complete, 5 separate workouts over 5 weeks.  After joining CrossFit just under a year ago (April 14, 2013).  I am happy that I was able to participate in the  Open and complete all workouts as Prescribed (RX).  When I think back to the first days of starting CrossFit, I never imagined doing the WOD's (when I was in training camp) but over time I moved into the regular class, performed WOD's at performance, comp and then RX on a fairly regular basis.  Over the weeks and months I've participated in a couple of competitions (2 NLI's and one Inner Gym).  My finish was middle of the road, not the worst, and by no means the best, however, finishing in the middle of the pack for being 48 (amongst 18+) felt pretty good.

Here are the results of my Open performance matched against those in my gym at CrossFit Forest:

Everyone did well and a few will move on to the Regionals.  My goal would be to continue to maintain and improve over the next 2 years and I think I too will have the numbers to advance to the regionals in the 2016 50+ category.  Who knows....

My performance in the Masters Mens 45-49 is listed here:

I placed 52th out of 329 in Southern California (top 15%)

I placed 634 out of 4393 in the World (top 14%)

So goals for next year? Well if I can improve from 14-15% and add be nearly the oldest in the division, (literally 1 month from turning 50), then I will see that as an improvement and a good sign that I could qualify for the Regionals in 2016.  I have some much room for improvement and as long as I stay healthy I think I am on track.
